Aonach Paddy O'Brien 2001

Traditional Music and Arts festival

A festival of traditional music, song and dance in formal and informal settings, this week is a tribute to the late Paddy O'Brien who did so much for Irish music through his teaching, composition and his unique contribution to accordion playing. The focal point of the festival is the annual accordion concert featuring players both young and old and of varying styles.

Aonach is a celebration of the accordion and of all styles of Irish music, a celebration of our very rich music, song and dance in a very extensive programme over five days.

Set in an area renowned for the warmth and friendliness of its people and for the scenic beauty of Lough Derg and especially the wealth of traditional musicians who abound  Aonach will, we feel sure, be a most enjoyable experience for you and will be a fitting tribute to the late Paddy O'Brien.

The Aonach is grant-aided by the Arts Council and includes many events which will cater for all tastes.
