A Breakfast Muesli Recipe
Last updated 19-Sep-1998
Introduction
This is not so much a recipe as a list of ingredients. We have tried many brands of muesli over the years, and as new brands come along we try them too. Finally we found one that was so good that we have stayed with it despite a variety of newcomers. This muesli is the tastiest and most satisfying mix which we have enjoyed, and we are pleased to share it with our guests and readers. The ingredients are given to make either 1 kg or 2 lbs of mixture.
Here are the ingredients of the Muesli; it is a 50% fruit, nut and seed mix and is highly nourishing.

Total weight 1000 32 oz
Method
Obviously you can substitute as you go along, and to suit your own taste. For example, nowadays we omit the banan chips, as some guests find them to be to hard in texture. Remember to tumble the sultanas, raisins and dates in the bran so that each piece of fruit is separate; this is done with the fingers, quite firmly, in order to enaure that each piece has been coated with bran. And of course use only the finest seedless fruit, free of stems etc. The same goes for the nuts - they should be free of woody elements such as hulls or shells.
And to complete the luxury, use fresh full cream milk - minimum 5% cream of course.
Now beat that for breakfast!
