The Learn Net Crew

On the 9th of December the Learn Net crew arrived at Ballincollig Community School.  The School had won the Learn Net Innovation Award ‘97 for the best Post Primary School Web Site.

The Transition Years of ‘96/’97 created the sites as part of their Computer Course. We started off learning the basic HTML coding and then progressed Netscape Navigator Gold when more detail was required.

Camera shy Dave Lowndes the soundman and Paschal Brooks the cameraman.

We used search engines to access pictures from the Internet to enhance the appearance of our award-winning site.  Each student choose a topic of their choice including: Formula 1, Cloning, Reviews on Bands, Astrology and Sport etc.

 During the filming

We were as nervous as kittens as the Learn Net crew began filming general shots around the classroom of us updating our pages.  After this, they began doing individual interviews with us where Selina O’ Reilly, asked us specific questions on our Web Pages with Dave the soundman and Pashcal the cameraman working hard behind the scenes.
All the students enjoyed the day immensely, finally being filmed holding the trophy triumphantly aloft.
