The Emily Cargan Page.
Emily Cargan is a well respected Irish poet who is currently working hard on a range of projects in both poetry and prose form. She claims to have a novel hidden somewhere and this may well be true, but I've never seen it. Of late Emily has also been implying that she has embarked on another novel and that the "old" one will never see the light of day.
The image above is an example of some of Emily's work, in this case she has written one of her poems on the bones of dead sheep. It is quite common for sheep to die on the hills and bogs and so bones are quite a regular feature of the upland landscape in the area around her home. This work was part of an exhibition staged at Cookstown in Northern Ireland.
Emily has also sent me a poem for you to enjoy, I hope that more will follow but in the mean time you will have to make do with just this one Emily's poem page.
Emily has promised to send me the occasional update so I can keep her many friends across the world up to date with where she is and what she is doing. Hopefully this update will come in a form that I can directly transfer to this page and so we will all have the info. in Emily's own words. Along with doing all that Emily has also announced that she will be writing an "agony aunt" column for this page. Now I haven't the slightest notion where she got this idea from, or what advice she intends to give, but I suppose anyone wanting her to address their problem should note that Emily's agony aunt page is no longer available. I can't enter into personal correspondence with anyone on matters they may raise and I will most certainly not be taking any responsibility for any outcomes resulting from following advice given by Emily. At this point words fail me but I would urge caution.
As you can see this page is under construction and has a long way to go but here are some details on the life of Emily:-
Emily continues on her travels and, to be honest, I have sort of lost track of all the places she has been to over the last few years. Between flights and horror movie bus rides Emily is still working on her epic poem "Vera" and may also have a novel in the pipeline, again. This is her second novel but it now seems likely that the first one will never see the light of day. Needless to say the recent travels have not reduced Emily's inclination for wandering around the world.
Currently those in the know believe that Emily may be located somewhere in Canada but that there is a reasonable possibility that she may visit Ireland in the near future. Beyond that it is impossible to say more other than to say that if you know Emily then you will know the problem.
