Turas Scoile 2010
On the 4th June 2010 2nd to 6th class went on there school tour to Achill Adventure Centre! The bus left the school at 9:00a.m.
On the way up to entertain ourselves we played music on our phones and we talked to each other. We were very excited but at the same time very nervous!
When we got to the centre we all got out of the bus and went into the meeting room. A man named Terence also known as T-man welcomed us to the centre. He demonstrated how to put a wet suit on for when we do put one on.
We were then separated into groups, 2nd, 3rd and 4th were in one group and 5th and 6th were in another.
The younger group went to the rock-climbing room first and we done archery! Christina and Martina even had a go at it!
When the other group was finished rock-climbing we went to have a go at it! Tony, Nathan, Joe and Padraic made it to the top of the wall!
We then had our lunch and when we were finished our lunch, we went to get a wetsuit and we put them on! We went out we put our buoy aids on and some sun cream.
Then we went on a bus to the lake. The smell wasn’t to pleasant as a group of wet kids just came off. It smelt of fish!
We went canoeing first and it was great. T-man suggested we sink the boat! We stayed there for a while then we walked across the field and across the road and we went surfing! The waves were very big. I think surfing was the best activity of the day!
Then we went back to the centre and got changed and had a shower. We left the centre at about 4:30p.m.
On the way home we went to Nevins café and restaurant. We got sausage & chips, fish fingers & chips or chicken nuggets & chips followed by ice-cream! It was very nice. We then left the restaurant and we went to a shop to buy some sweets.
We got home at about 8:00p.m. We all thought it was the best school tour we ever were on! We enjoyed it very much!
