The Rickedy Bridge
Hi there, on the 19th of September 2003 a accident happended North Mayo, Rep of Ireland. A horrible blast of wind and rain destroyed a whole load of villages such as Gorthbrack, Pullathomas, Glengad and Cornhill. In Pullathomas the local graveyard was totalled. Headstones were flung about 5 yards away from the grave.

In my own village of Gorthbrack, the bridge was smashed by a fallen tree and the bridge was really strong too. Now my neighbours across the river have to travel around 8 miles to get to the school but if the bridge was there they'd have to go just a mile. They can still cross at the river because a tree had fallen and made sort of a bridge so I crossed and walked down the road and the carnage I saw was... cool. I mean the fun we had: knocking down partially broken trees and we were throwing electrical stuff we found in the little waterfalls formed by strong water.

It happened at night ( I mean when the bridge broke ) and when my neighbours saw it they drove down at 1 a.m. and waited untill the fire brigade came and blocked it with gravel!

Well thats the end so I'll say you don't have to go home but you got to getout of here.

                                                     The Day the Mountain Moved

Hi my name is Christopher and I have just witnessed the biggest disaster Pullathomas has ever  seen. On the 19th of September 2003 in a small village called Pullathomas an awful tragedy happend. A big massive landslide came down the mountain destroying everything in its way. The areas that it affectted were Gorthbrack, Pullathomas, Glengad and Cornhill. But the worst places that were affectted were our local Graveyard and another village called Barrnacoille.

In our local Graveyard aload of Gravestones were smashed by it and about six coffins floated out to sea. In Barrnacoille two houses were smashed and people that lived in the houses for most of their lives would not leave by helicopter.
