Dear Parent(s) Guardian(s),

Student who are at present in 3^rd year or Transition year have a number of different options for Senior Cycle Education in the coming year.

3^rd year students have three options: Transition year; Leaving Certificate or Leaving Certificate Applied. Transition year students can choose between Leaving Certificate or Leaving Certificate Applied.

Next September will be the first time that this school will be offering the Leaving Certificate Applied. At the moment students from Transition year and 3^rd year are being informed about the various options by the Career Guidance teacher.

A meeting for parents will be held in the school on Wednesday 24 March at 8.00 pm. At this meeting information will be given on the various senior cycle courses that can be taken as well as some guidance on choosing subjects for students who opt to study the traditional Leaving Certificate.

I would encourage as many parents as possible to attend this meeting as the choices that are made by students at this time in their student life have a significant influence for their future careers.
