AIDHMEANNA AGUS CUSPOÍRÍ NA GAELSCOILE 1. Na páistí a bheith dhátheangach ag aois an-óg. Chuige sin baintear feidhm as mhodh an tsúgartha agus báú iomlán an linbh sa teanga i seomra na naíonán. 2. Caighdeán ard oideachasúil í ngach ábhar, an Béarla san aireamh, a chur ar fáil do dhaltaí na scoile. 3. An Ghaeilge a bheith mar theanga bheo, agus atmosféar Gaelach a chothú sa scoil. 4. Léargas leathan a thabhairt do na páistí ar a gcultúr agus duchas ar an noidhreacht, a gereideamh agus a dtraidisiún tríd an gceol traidisiúnta, amhránaíocht agus litríocht na Gaeilge. 5. Forbairt iomláine an linbh a chothú agus gach deis a chur ar fáil chun buanna an pháiste aonair a fhorbairt. 6. Meas a chothú sa pháiste air féin, ar dhaoine eile agus ar an timpeallacht. 7. Suíomh taitneamhach ina mbeidh na páistí sona sásta i gcónaí a chothú. 8. Cuirtear béim fé leith ar na healaíona sa Ghaelscoil. 9. Forbairt fisiuíl an linbh a chothú tré bhéim a chur ar spórt, cluichí agus corpoiliúint sa Ghaelscoil. 10. An Ghaelscoil a bheith mar lárionad d'imeachtaí na Gaeilge i gCeatharlach feasta.

 

AIMS AND IDEALS OF GAELSCOIL CHEATHARLACH 1. The pupils to become bilingual at a very young age. To achieve this children need to be totally immersed in the language through play in the infant room at the age of 4 years. 2. To provide a high educational standard in all subjects, including English, for the pupils. 3. Irish to be the everyday living language of the school and an Irish atmosphere to be cultivated in the Gaelscoil. 4. To provide the pupils with a broad outlook on their culture and heritage, their religion and tradition, with particular emphasis on Irish music, song and literature. 5. To provide every opportunity for the total development of the child - physical and educational, moral and religious - and for the development of the individual's particular talents. 6. To cultivate in each child a sense of respect for himself, for others and for his environment. 7. To provide pleasant surroundings in which the pupils can learn and be happy. 8. The Gaelscoil shall place special emphasis on the arts -music, craft, art. 9. The physical development of the pupil to be aided through involvement in sport, games and physical activity. 10. The Gaelscoil to become the cultural centre of Irish activities in Carlow. .
