Leaving the Inn, take the main road to the north-east of Acoose Lake. Then follow the track on the right hand side south-eastward to a group of houses. Pass over a stream and follow the stream bed going up the ridge to Caher, and along the ridge to Carrantouhill. On top of Carrantouhill is a bronze indicator which points out all the features of interest within a radius of 80 miles. On a clear day, Bantry Bay in the south and Galway Bay in the north can be seen. |
