Uses of the stone
The stone is removed from the quarry in veins and hand picked for further use. There are various colours available from grey, bronze and
purple-tinged. It is then loaded into in lorry loads or in 1 tonne bags for
easy handling on the building site. The stone is used for the stone facing
of houses, for wall building, and for fireplaces and other internal
decorations, as can be seen from the photographs.
