The course of the Barrow
The most famous river in Ireland is the majestic Shannon, which runs more or less down the centre of the island. The Barrow is a lot more intimate in scale. It runs from Monasterevin down to New Ross, as you can see from the map. In the summer (?) of 2007, we made a trek with our friends, Martin and Marion Hayes, down almost the entire course of the river. Click here to start your Barrow tour.
