In May 2007 my wife Carmel and I fought our way through Dublin Zoo (a.k.a. the airport) and flew to one of our favourite European cities. This time we'd decided to combine a trip to Vienna with one to Budapest, which we hadn't visited before.

Our first week, however, was spent renewing our acquaintance with the sights and the people of Vienna - not least our good friends, Dieter and Hille Ramharter, who recently made the city their home in their retirement.

Shots on these pages were taken with a Nikon D200 digital SLR and a venerable Leica M3.
