MAYBE

MAYBE

Maybe this millennium things will change,
No more war no more pain.

It will be safe to walk the streets of our land,
Protestants and Catholics will shake each other's hand.

Looking around our towns, we can see
A beautiful place better than it used to be.

Listening to people not talking in tones of hatred,
But in a language of love that is sacred.

Enjoying the life that you live
And finally knowing how to give.

Nuclear warheads no longer exist,
Hunger and disease gone like a breeze.

Ill people are just a fairytale,
In a bookshop for sale.

No longer are people poor and hungry,
Because everybody has equal amounts of money.

United together in love an d peace,
We can hold hands with ease.

Maybe this could happen, maybe it would,
But I said, maybe.
