Mater Dei Counselling Centre, established in 1973, is professionally staffed and is under the auspices of CROSSCARE. It provides a counselling service for adolescents and their families who are experiencing a wide range of problems and has a special interest in the area of substance abuse in the 12-18 year age group.

The service, which is professionally staffed, and run on a four-day a week basis was established in 1990 by Mater Dei Counselling Centre at the request of the local community. The Tallaght branch of Teen Counselling was established in Springfield in November 1995, at the request of some of the community organisations.
