Cork City and County

"Cork is the loveliest city in the world. Anybody who does not agree with me either was not born there or is prejudiced" - Robert Gibbings, early twentieth century artist, engraver and illustrator.

There are a number of homepages which give information about the Cork area. These are among the best:

Cork Corporation - Bárdas Chorcaí is an excellent official site, including very detailed street maps, with index for easy finding, as well as a wide range of useful information.

Cork County Council is the official site of the local authority for the county. It has a variety of sections, including on-line art exhibitions, environmental information, planning information and much more.

Local Ireland - Cork is the Cork section of an online community for people who share an interest in Ireland whether living at home or abroad. There is information on local names, genealogy, history, culture, business, landscape, facts and figures, sport and much more.

The Cork Guide has sections on accommodation, attractions, events, food & drink, news & info, shopping, sports, theatre & cinema, towns, travel and weather.

Discover Cork lists hotels, guest houses and restaurants, including price information.

The Friendly City is another useful guide to Cork.

Come to Cork is the official website of Cork City Tourism.

Crawford Municipal Art Gallery, Cork, has information and some samples of the work on show at the gallery.

Aardvark Internet Publishing is a neighbour of ours in Douglas and their site is worth visiting.

To view a number of other Irish links go to the home page of the Irish WWW Server Maps

Clonakilty, Ireland - The Beach Centre of West Cork. Good for seeing what the coastal area west of Cork City has to offer.

Cork Weather has a four day forecast for the area.
