EDITOR'S MISSION STATEMENT

Education Today is aimed at final year students in over 800 schools in the Republic of Ireland .

Education Today is a new magazine for the changing face of modern Ireland.

The past five years has seen unprecedented double figure growth in the Irish economy, accompanied and indeed partly fuelled by rising levels of educational achievement and also by increased expectations and aspirations of each successive wave of School Leavers.

It's time now for a reality check, as the much talked about economic realignment translates into a new set of industrial and commercial realities.

EDUCATION TODAY

Young people who are now in their final year at school not only need excellent careers advice, they require an in depth and accessible set of options to widen their job, training and education horizons. They need to be informed without being patronised, and Education Today is a publication that will take their futures seriously yet at the same time provide them with interesting and informative articles on life style and young adult culture, because in today's world there is a seamless transition between work and play.

EDUCATION TODAY

Editor Seán Laffey M.Ed BSc(Hons) CIBiol MIBiol (who is also an Irish based consultant to the University of Glamorgan), is assembling a team of journalists to bring an informed and accessible message to over 60,000 students a month. Education in its truest sense is the considered production of well-rounded individuals and this ethos will pervade every page of Education Today.

In a competitive market for talented new recruits, Education Today will become a choice vehicle for delivering your business message to the young adults of the future.

I look forward to working with you in the year ahead.

Yours sincerely,

Sean Laffey
