The St.Louis Secondary School has had a long tradition of basketball in the school for many years. The last 8 years however have seen many major changes in the game in the school. We joined the S.B.A.I.(SCHOOLGIRLS BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION OF IRELAND) which gave us the springboard of the NORTH EAST REGION and national competition. Starting as a 'C' grade school and with the able coaching of Eugene O'Hanlon we progressed to "B" grade and then into the "A" grade. Competing as we now do against the top schools in the country has had a profound effect on the standards of basketball in the school.
