This is the 2nd year history trip to the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh, Co. Tyrone. It takes 2 hours by bus to get to the Folk Park from Carrickmacross. The trip took place on Wednesday 10th of May 2000. The Folk Park shows us the way of life in Ireland and America in the 1800. It takes 3-4 hours to walk around the whole park. The park follows the lives of 2 families, the Mellons (a middle class family) who emigrated to America on a coffin ship, and became bankers and subsequent millionaires in America. The other family are the Campbells (a rich landlord family). Their original houses were rebuilt in the park, but the Mellon house is situated on it's original site.
