Dunquin is situated in the south-west of Ireland, at the end of the Dingle peninsula in the county of Kerry. 
It is in a small fertile valley facing west out to sea. It overlooks the Blasket islands. Dunquin is the most westerly part of Europe.
The area is Irish speaking.
