This section of the website is reserved for relaying the detail of events that commemorate the local history and heritage of Castlemagner and the surrounding area. The events recorded have not necessarily been organised by the Castlemagner Historical Society however it is the wish of the Society to communicate all history and heritage related events that are of local interest.

One of the more notable events of this year has been the information evening at
Ballygiblin House. A fortuitous break in the otherwise wet weather facilitated several speeches on the history of the magnificent house in the pleasant setting of its grounds. Local historian Denis O'Donoghue enthralled those present with a flowing speech that recounted the colourful past of the house.

Feel free to explore the archive to see other events that have been organised in Castlemagner and the local community.
