On the 25th of April we played Ballylanders National School in a schools' hurling game. We
left the school at ten minutes to ten as the match was to start at ten thirty.
In the first minute Ballylanders had a good chance for goal but James O' Leary cleared it
away. At half time the score was Effin 5-2, Ballylanders 0-0. It was a good game and there
was some great hurling from the midfield area. The match ended Effin 13-3, Ballylanders 0-0.
The scores came from, Enda Kelly who scored six goals, Kevin Shanahan three goals, Conor
Kearney one goal and three points, Hugh O'Neill one point, Rosemary Rea one goal and Stephen
O' Keeffe scored two goals. Ballylanders G. A. A. pitch was in very good condition. At the
end of the match we shook hands and we went back to school.
We will now play the winners of another group in the 9-aside Final, in The Gaelic Grounds,
Limerick, at a later date.
