Under-21's Suffer League Defeat
Filed: 16/07/06

Adrian CarberryLast Sunday morning the Under-21's went down 1 - 4 at the hands of near neighbours Longford Town.

After an uneventful opening period, Town took the lead after 21 minutes. Adrian Carberry poked the ball home at the back post after a bit of ping pong in the Longford box.

However the sides went in level at the break when a Longford player slipped into the box, skipping through a couple of challenges before firing the ball to the back of the net.

The visitors took the lead just after the restart when Keith O'Reilly put the ball in to his own net when trying to clear a Longford cross. Soon after a shot from the edge of the box made it 1 - 3.

With 20 minutes remaining, a Town kick-out held up in the strong wind and the Longford striker was quickest to react, running in on goal before slotting the ball home to make it 1 - 4.
