Martin Reilly,
seen here accepting the Texoil Player of the Month
Award for October from Nicky Moran.
|
The Club can confirm that both Ger O'Brien and Martin
Reilly will be playing their football with Kildare County
next season.
O'Brien will again be out on loan next season, but
it must surely be only a matter of time before St. Pat's
recall him to Inchicore for first team duties. Martin
Reilly has decided to leave Saint Mel's Park for personal
reasons and work committments. With a new baby just
arrived, and working very close to Station Road, the
best decision for man and family was to move to the
League's newest club.
We thank both for their valued services last season,
and wish them all the best for the future.
Stephen Kelly has agreed to re-sign for the Club. The
influential Town captain, who missed the second half
of last season through injury will be looking to regain
full fitness in time for the start of the new season
in late March.

| Eric Molloy: Staying
with Athlone Town. Pic: Padraig Devaney. |
NEW Athlone Town boss Aaron Callaghan has made his
first signing of the close season, a week and a half
after his appointment.
Tom Silke, a former Town player, and Athlone native,
has made the move from Longford Town, following his
former Assistant Manager to Saint Mel's Park.
The big centre half attracted a lot of interest from
Sligo Rovers boss Don O'Riordan, but chose to return
to his hometown club with the appointment of Callaghan.
Despite much media speculation on his future, talented
winger Eric Molloy, another target of O'Riordan's has
put pen to paper on a new deal keeping him at Saint
Mel's Park. The former Manchester United reserve team
winger scored a wonder goal against Sligo at the tail
end of last season, capturing the eye of the north-westeners'
boss.
Also retained for next season are midfielders Steven
Gavin and Mick Collins, Irish Colleges duo, Damien Rushe
and Alan Kelly, and centre half Des Hope. Hope graduated
to the first team from the Under-21 set up last season,
and improved with every game. The retention of his services
will be a huge boost next season, as the Town push for
promotion back to the Premier Division.

TOWN officially unveiled Aaron Callaghan as their new
manager at a press conference in Athlone on Monday evening,

Athlone is a good soccer town, and with the new stadium
coming, it's time to harness that potential."
Speaking on his future team, the former Stoke City

back in the Premier Division."
Club Chairman Paddy McCaul welcomed the new manager
