Ma theastaíonn uait scríobh chugam as Gaeilge beidh fáilte romhat.!! ( = welcome to my page. If you wish to write to me in Irish you are welcome to do so.!).: Hey, thanks to those who did.!!

PACKET RADIO is the use of the computer for sending and receiving messages and for reading bulletin boards. Sort of corresponds to the Internet except that it is run by amateurs for amateurs and costs nothing. It has, however the disadvantage that it can be slow and unreliable at times as it is only as good as the weakest link and so if some amateur operator decides he has had enough he can just shut down operations and all we know is that we are not getting our msg's anymore.! But generally this does not happen too often and some operators are quite professional. In fact some of the best internet software was written by amateurs, as I understand it. Now very much overtaken by email. Back up to interests
Skype and Google Talk and FreeCall are extremely useful for chats and phone calls that are cheap and convenient.
WOODTURNING is a new hobby for me but goes back to an old hobby of woodwork. I came across woodturning in the South of France up on top of a mountain in Provence.! Saw it demonstrated and was fascinated. Then the next year I saw a woodturning day advertised and applied for it. An older man "adopted" me and was my monitor/tutor until he died recently.R.I.P. Go raibh maith agat a Mhichíl (=thank you Michael) I am still very much a beginner but am getting there..well, sort of...... ! We have recently got permission from Coláiste Iognáid Rís to use their school workshop for demonstrations. Our thanks to them (they are my alma mater as well.!)
Back up to interests. INTERNET I spend far too much time here on the Internet.! But e-mail takes up even more time.!
