Priorswood Parish Silver Jubilee. 1974-1999.

This is our 25th year as a Parish Community. We thank God for 25 fruitful years here in St. Francis of Assisi Parish.

Recently, we had a special concelebrated mass of thanksgiving in which all of the former members of the Capuchin community attended. Bishop Jim Moriarty, Auxiliary Bishop of Dublin, was the main celebrant at the mass and was assisted by Fr. Dermot Lynch, the Provincial of the Irish Capuchin province and Fr. Benignus Buckley, our Parish Priest. The First Parish Priest, Fr. Colga O'Riordan was preacher at the mass. Many parishoners and former parishoners were in attendance and many Sacred Heart Sisters who currently work and have worked in the parish also attended.

There were other activities organised to mark this special occasion in the life of our parish, including a mass of remembrance for all those who died from our parish in the last twenty-five years. The Band of An Garda Siochana came and provided the music for this occasion.
