VOTES FOR THE IRISH ABROAD IN IRISH ELECTIONS We are a group of Irish emigrants and returned emigrants who believe that the relationship between Ireland and her Diaspora is detrimental to both parties. We wish to focus on a campaign for closer co-operation between the two, specifically the right to vote in Irish elections for a fixed amount of years. Although our main focus will be on the 'vote' we've looked to making this an overall Irish page by providing for your reading pleasure articles, facts, news and opinions relating to other aspects of Ireland and emigration. The nature of the vote is public participation and taking our cue from this we have focused on making this page dependant on you. What we want are more stories, jokes, opinions and comments, the main criteria being that they have to be emigrant related, particularly toward the present generation. Glor an Deorai was a founded and operates mainly in Britain. We are asking the Irish in Britain and Europe to become more involved in this site but not exclusively and we would point to the many Irish-American sites out there as an example of what the Irish in Britain and Europe should be doing.
