Dana , Rosemary Scallon, born in Derry August 30, 1951, has lived in Alabama in the US, for the last 6 years with her husband Damien Scallon and four children - Grace the eldest 17, John James, Ruth and the youngest Robert aged 8.

In 1970 Dana won the Eurovision Song Contest which launched her international career which has spanned the last 27 years.

In 1992 Dana commenced her broadcasting career in the States on a TV 'Say Yes', broadcast by EWTN the Catholic Cable Network. Each episode and is watched by an estimated 30 million people world-wide. The channel foundress is Mother Angelica.

In 1993 Dana participated in World Youth day in Denver and performed for the Pope. She also wrote and sang 'We are one Body' together with half a million Americans.

In 1995 Dana toured extensively in UK and Ireland . She also sang at a mass in Central Park NY. She met with President Clinton on his visit to her hometown of Derry. She received the Rotaries Paul Harris Award.

Dana CO-hosted the national TV coverage of New York's St Patrick's day parade.

Dana is a practising Catholic, espouses family values and is a non political, independent presidential candidate. She made political history in Ireland as the first person ever to be nominated by County Councils as a candidate.
