Adult Education
Greendale has an extensive involvement in Adult Education. Upwards of 1,000 part-time students enrol annually. They choose
from a wide range of courses covering such diverse areas as computers, languages, gourmet cookery, art, pottery, music,
personal fitness, law, accountancy and philosophy.
Third Level
Greendale offers an interesting range of third-level courses in its Further Education Department.
The courses on offer are as follows:
National Certificate in Office Information Systems (Course AL005 – CAO)
This course is offered in conjunction with Athlone IT. The first year of the course is offered in Greendale.
After successful completion of first year, students transfer to Athlone IT, where they complete their national certificate,
national diploma and degree courses.
Diploma in Tourism and Travel
This course is designed for post-Leaving Certificate students who are interested in pursuing a career in the Tourism Industry.
National Certificate in Office Information Systems (Business Linked)
This one-year course is suitable for those who wish to pursue a business career. It provides excellent opportunities for students
to develop computer skills that are useful in a business environment. Students work with the most up-to-date computer
applications and they may also continue their studies in this area.
The points gained on the NCVA Certificate may be used for entry to their third-level courses. Work experience is part of the
course.
