Extra-Curricular Activities

Greendale has a strong commitment to the development of the gifts and talents of all students. Academic development is given a high priority however personal, spiritual and social developments are regarded as equally important.

All students are encouraged to become involved in community development and altruistic endeavours. They are also encouraged to get involved in Extra-Curricular activities such as drama, choir and debating. They participate extensively in sports, including Gaelic football, soccer, rugby, athletics and swimming. Greendale is regarded as one of the country’s greatest nurseries of athletic talent. In recent years, it has produced a number of All-Ireland champions, notably in pole-vaulting and high jump.

Altruistic pursuits in Greendale include participation in charity fasts, projects for the environment, visitation of the elderly, care for the handicapped, including care for the sick on annual pilgrimages to Lourdes.
