When you need full colour printing capacity up to A3 size, the BJC-4650
from Canon is the cost-conscious, high technology solution, delivering
large-format plans, posters and spreadsheets right on your desktop. With
the optional scanning cartridge you also have the facility to put colour
images straight into your PC.
The BJC-4650 is Canon's easy to use, full colour A3 Bubble Jet printer.
It works beautifully with Windows® 3.1x, 95 and NT, and is compatible
with your Mac as well.
Setting up the printer software is simple, and control is an absolute
breeze. Within no time, you'll be outputting superb quality colour documents
on all sorts of different media: glossy photographic paper, transparent
film, plain paper and envelopes... even T-shirt transfers and fabric sheets.
A range of different cartridges allows you to create all kinds of effects
for professional-looking documents. High quality dye based inks in the
resident colour cartridges are water-fast, smudge proof and fade resistant;
crisp black text and vibrant colours can all be printed on the same page.
The optional BC-29F Fluorescent Cartridge - unique to Canon - enables you
to print fluorescent-like colours for extra impact, while the BC-22e Photo
Cartridge (also an option) gives amazingly realistic photographic results.
The printer can carry up to 100 sheets at a time in its automatic sheet
feeder, so there's no need for constant re-loading of paper. There's a
useful manual feeder for one-off media, too. When space is at a premium,
you'll appreciate the compact dimensions of the BJC-4650 which are just
447 x 253 x 216mm (W x D x H). And it's supplied with a one year return-to-Canon
warranty for total peace of mind.
Image Optimizer
Smooth away those jagged edges! The BJC-4650 uses Image Optimizer processing
technology to improve the quality of low resolution images such as you
might capture from the Internet, photographic CD-ROM or a low resolution
scanner.
Drop Modulation Technology™
We keep hearing about higher and higher resolution but what does it
actually mean? Dots per inch is only one measure of quality. Quality is
dependent on the shape, colour and size of the dots. Using Drop Modulation
Technology the BJC-4650 creates images from dots of different sizes and
colour - small dots for areas of low saturation and fine graphics - large
dots for saturated colour. Images have greater depth of colour, subtlety
of shading and less graininess than those produced by printers with supposedly
higher resolutions.
Combined with the optional photo cartridge which can produce dots of
40 shades (compared to the usual four colours), the BJC-4650 can produce
true photographic quality.
Black-Only Printing At Laser Speed
Insert the optional high capacity BC-20 Mono Cartridge and you can
print black text at up to 4.8 pages per minute in High Speed Mode. Smudge
resistant characters are clearly defined with smooth edges for a crisp,
clean look.
Bringing Photos To Life
For photographic imagery that leaps off the page, slot in the optional
BC-22e Photo Cartridge. This cartridge uses low density inks and the latest
Drop Modulation Technology™ to maximise reproduction quality. The Photo
Cartridge is also supplied in a special Photo Kit, which includes a supply
of High Resolution Paper - everything you need to print photographic images
captured from a scanner, digital camera, photo CD or the Internet.
Print From A Mac Or PC
You can use the BJC-4650 to print from both a PC and a Mac. The printer
automatically detects which type of computer allowing you to switch effortlessly
between the two.
The Bigger Picture
The versatile BJC-4650 accepts all sizes of paper from A5 to A3, plus
Legal and Letter - and it also handles DL envelopes. This means it's perfect
for all your printing requirements, including large graphics, CAD drawings
and colour photographs on glossy paper (A3 and A4 size).
Energy Savings
The BJC-4650's automatic power-off feature saves electricity when the
printer is not in use.
Colour Image Scanning
Insert the optional Colour Image Scanner Cartridge into the BJC-4650,
and you can scan photos, images and documents at up to A3 in size straight
into your PC! This facility gives you full colour sheet-fed scanning capability
up to 360 dots per inch resolution. An IEEE-1284 compliant ECP parallel
interface is provided for impressively fast data transmission. When you
have finished scanning, simply replace the scanner cartridge with an ink
cartridge, and the BJC-4650 will be ready to print. (Please note: to use
the Colour Image Scanner Cartridge your PC must operate under Windows®
95.)
