Travel the world with the BJC-80, and you will always have the facility for high quality A4 printing at your fingertips. Compact, lightweight and easily portable, it outputs bright, vivid colours at unrivalled colour quality for a portable in its class. The resident BC-11e Cartridge contains superior dye-based inks which are smudge-proof and fade resistant, allowing black text and vibrant coloured graphics to be reproduced perfectly on the same page.

The optional BC-10 Mono Cartridge provides a fast, black-only printing facility at up to 4.5 pages per minute perfect for printing letters and proposals when time is tight. This cartridge delivers sharp, black text with beautifully smoothed edges, giving your documents a truly professional finish.

The range of media available for the BJC-80 is equally impressive. From plain Bubble Jet paper for economical high volume printing to Glossy Photo Paper and High Resolution Coated Paper for sharp colour images, this versatile portable will meet your most demanding printing needs. To maximise productivity, there is an automatic sheet feeder which carries up to 30 sheets at a time, so you won't have to keep reloading the printer with paper.

Drop Modulation Technology™

The four colour printer features Canon's new Drop Modulation Technology to ensure desktop quality printing for colour and photo images, while print speeds of over four pages per minute ensure efficient handling of text documents. We keep hearing about higher and higher resolution¸but what does it actually mean? Quality is dependent on the shape, colour and size of the dots. Using Drop Modulation Technology the BJC-80 creates images from dots of different sizes and colour - small dots for areas of low saturation and fine graphics - large dots for saturated colour. Images have greater depth of colour, subtlety of shading and less grain than those produced by printers with supposedly higher resolutions.

Image Optimizer

Smooth away those jagged edges ! The BJC-80 uses Image Optimizer processing technology to improve the quality of low resolution images such as you might capture from the Internet, a photographic CD-ROM or a digital scanner.

Portable Printing

An optional portable kit with NiMH battery pack allows the BJC-80 to be used without the need for mains power, so you can use it absolutely anywhere you want. In situations where you choose to connect to the mains, the BJC-80's optional Universal Power Adaptor enables your portable printer to utilise the local power supply wherever you travel in the world.

Infrared Transmission

The BJC-80 has its own built-in IrDA sensor for automatic infrared communication with your PC. This means that you can download data for printing without the need for any connecting cables. What's more, it is supplied as a standard feature, so there is no need to purchase additional accessories.

Scanning

Insert the optional Colour Image Scanner Cartridge into the BJC-80, and you can scan photo images and documents straight into your PC! The BJC-80 gives you full colour sheet-fed scanning capability up to 360 dots per inch resolution. An IEEE-1284 compliant ECP parallel interface is provided for impressively fast data transmission. When you have finished scanning, simply replace the scanner cartridge with an ink cartridge, and the BJC-80 will be ready to print. (To use the Colour Image Scanner Cartridge your PC must operate under Windows® 95.)
