Introduction
 The Higher Education Sports Federation (HESF) is a representative body which co-ordinates a programme of sports
activities for institutes of technology and other third level
colleges as recognised by the Irish Department of Education. It
consists of staff and student representatives from each of the
affiliated colleges.
The Higher Education Sports Federation continually reviews its activities and will attempt to liase
and cooperate with other bodies and organisations engaged in sports
promotion.
While the performance in some of its activities reach very high
levels of excellence, the thrust of the HESF is towards participation in as wide a range of activities as
possible. The emphasis will therefore not be on success at any
price but on friendly rivalry and comradship.
