This is the 13th GM Hopkins
Intonational Summer School to be held in Monasterevin, in
Ireland

Most ambitious yet Our 13th Summer School, now in
shape, is certainly our most ambitious to date, involving
international participation by 26 countries, outstanding
writes, a wider range of activities, and more venues.
NUI Maynooth connection strengthened
after the outstanding
success of last year, Maynooth University, under President W.G.
Smith, are becoming
more involved this year. The School will feature another
Maynooth Day and Prof. Seamus McGowan of the English Department has been
appointed to liaise with the Hopkins Society in
developing this programme and in ensuring full
participation by the University - including the
organisation of Readings, Lectures, a Hopkins Mass in the College Chapel, a Concert,sherry reception and the Hopkins Banquet.
Regis University, Denver Chapter of
the GM Hopkins Society:
the 2nd Chapter of the Hopkins Society Ltd.. in USA will
be held in March at Regis University. The Keynote Address
will be given by Father Joseph Feeney, SJ,
James Joyce Centre link another exciting development for
the Society is this collaboration with Robert Joyce,
Director of the James Joyce Centre in North Great.
Georges Street. We will co-host a Literary evening.
International Representation widest
yet: the fame of the
Hopkins International Summer School continues to grow
across the globe and this year promises the widest
international participation yet, with no fewer than 26
countries being represented. Several Ambassadors have
expressed a wish to come to Monsterevin.
Major Writers for Hopkins: we are delighted to announce that
a number of world-famous writers will be participating
this year. They include the famous poet and
Denmarks finest writer, Klaus Rifbjerg (author of over 100 books, including
over 100 books, including film scripts); Hugh Kenner - who will be honoured in May with
an Honorary Doctorate from NUI Maynooth; a group of
leading Austrian poets led by Gerhard Kofler; an Italian Womens Poetry evening; and on the Irish scene,
some fine writers including Desmond Egan.
Poetry Competition :has continued to grow and will have
