Each Summer,since 1987,lovers of poetry, of the poetry of Gerard Manley Hopkins in particular, assemble in Monasterevin, a Victorian village lying 40 miles south-west of Dublin in Ireland.

TRAVEL: how to
get to Monasterevin, Co. Kildare, IRELAND The Hopkins International Summer School takes place each year in Monasterevin, Co. Kildare. Monasterevin is situated about 40 miles south-west of DUBLIN, (on the N.7 for those in cars!) and is easily accessible by regular buses from the Terminus for DUBLIN Airport Buses. (Click here for more about Monasterevin and GM Hopkins.) Trains are also available from Huston Station to either Kildare or Portarlington and then, taxi to Monasterevin.This is approximately a 5 mile trip, by Bus or Taxi so wont be unduly expensive.
