Monasterevin, the small Irish town that hosts HOPKINS 2000, an international poetry festival was a support for the English poet, Gerard Manley Hopkins. Here are some details of this town.

While living in Dublin, Hopkins found a supportive haven in Monasterevin, a village in the south west of Ireland. The poet visited Monasterevin, his rural haven, at least 7 times declaring that he 'felt better for the delicious bog air of Monasterevin'. For more see here.
