The Institute of Project Management of Ireland, founded in 1989, is a professional body dedicated to advancing the state-of-the-art in the profession of project management.

It is fast-growing and committed to an energetic and comprehensive programme of activities to help you progress your professional career, and to raise the profile of project management.

The Institute is the only Irish-based organisation dedicated to project managers in all disciplines.


Objectives

The principle objectives of the Institute are to:

  • Promote the "Management by Projects" approach to service the needs and challenges facing business in today's competitive environment
  • Provide training in project management
  • Create an environment in project management techniques and experience can be developed, expressed and shared
  • Set and maintain standards of professionalism and excellence in project management
  • Encourage the application of project management skills to a diverse range of disciplines and thus dispel the myth that project management only applies to major capital projects
  • Provide guidelines for instruction and career development in the field of project management
