ISA - the international society for measurement and control
European Region
7th & 8th April 2000
Cork, Ireland
Welcome to Cork! - Fáilte go Corcaigh!

From: Brian Curtis, President
Ireland Section
The Ireland Section will host the annual European Region Workshop on 7-8 April 2000, in Cork City. A Region Council Meeting is planned as well. You’ll be staying at Jurys Hotel, Western Road, Cork, phone +353-21-276-622. Jurys is a Four Star Hotel in the city centre. I expect that you already have your calendar marked and plan to attend. Now, with this mailing, you have the program information and registration details you've been waiting for.
Don’t waste a single minute! Complete your registration form and fax it to Billy Walsh promptly. Make your travel arrangements and look forward to working with leaders throughout the Region to realize common ISA goals in Europe, learn how to use ISA OnLine Personal, share your Section ideas and experiences, get answers to Section questions and learn from seasoned ISA leaders. You will meet the ISA Executive Committee, which will meet 6-7 April and then join the Workshop, and you will make personal contact with ISA Staff from North Carolina.
The Region Workshop/Council Meeting provides an excellent opportunity for current, incoming, and potential leaders to learn more about their Society and how to achieve success at the Section level. Every Section needs to be represented. You’ll make contacts and learn things that just don’t surface at a Section meeting. Don’t miss it - your participation will provide valued benefits for you and others! Registration forms are expected no later than 17 March 2000.
A Partners Program is planned for Friday and Saturday, 7-8 April. A bus trip to Killarney, visiting the sites, is planned for Friday (website gives no insight into the magnificence of this trip). On Saturday a bus will go to Cobh Heritage Centre, then to Midleton Distillery and on to Blarney Castle and Blarney Woollen Mills (lots of shopping!!!). All busses leave and return to Jurys Hotel. The fee listed on the registration form covers transportation only. Admission fees and lunch are an additional cost.
Bring your family and spend a few days after the meeting to enjoy the sites. See you in Cork.
P.S. This is your greatest opportunity to learn more about successfully serving the members of your Section, adding value to their membership, and gaining insight into being an effective Section leader.
Don't miss it!
