HOW TO IMPORT MUSIC ON TO YOUR PC

HOW TO CREATE A MUSIC CD USING TRACKS ALREADY ON YOUR PC

I am using MUSICMATCH JUKEBOX 7.5 on my computer and your version may not look the same but the buttons should look very similar to this.

----------------------------------------

TO IMPORT MUSIC FROM A CD TO YOUR PC

Start MUSICMATCH and insert your CD.  The track numbers should be displayed in the red window as "TRACK 1" "TRACK 2" etc.  If you are already connected to the internet, MUSICMATCH should automatically look up the track details and insert the track names.  You may be asked to select a specific cd,   ie. to select cd 1 or cd 2 of a double album.  If you are not already connected to the internet, connect and re-insert your cd to get the track details.

Before you import your cd, you must specify the folder into which your music should be saved to.  To do this click "Options",   "Recorder",  "Settings".  The window below will appear.

Click the "Tracks Directory..." button and click the small square button near the top.  You can then browse to the folder you want to save your music to.  When you have selected the folder, click OK and you will come back to the original window (above).  Here you can also select the "Recording Quality".  Here I have selected "mp3PRO" as the file type and I have selected "CD Quality 64kbps".   Mp3PRO files take up half the space that normal mp3 files take up and they are supposedly better quality.  Personally I can't tell the difference. If you are going to share your music with other internet users save your music as mp3, set the bitrate at 128kbps.  Click OK to save your settings.

To import your music, click the red button (inside the light blue square) and this will open the "Recorder" window (not shown).  Click "Record" to start copying your CD to your pc.

HOW TO CREATE A MUSIC CD USING TRACKS ALREADY ON YOUR PC

When you have the tracks that you want to burn to a cd selected in the red window, click the "CD-R"  button in green box.  This "CD-R" button may be called "BURN" on other MUSICMATCH versions.  The burner window opens, (bottom half of graphic).  Make sure the button (inside the yellow square) is pressed.  When this button is selected, your mp3 files will be converted  to .wav files (normal cd music) during  the burning process.  Before you click the "BURN" (purple box), check your settings by pressing the "OPTIONS" button (blue box).  Here you can select the setting of the blank cd you are using, ie.74 minute or 80 minute.  This will be displayed on the bottom of the burner window in green.  As you can see in the graphic, I have used 51:45 of 80:00 minutes.  If this green bar changes to red, you must remove one or more tracks because they will not fit on the blank cd.  To prevent any errors during the burning process, close any other programs which you may have running.  Click "BURN" to make your new cd.
