Cornamona
– (Corr na Mona)
Corr
na Mona is situated at the centre of the Joyce Country Mountain and
Lake District, one of the most beautiful areas in the whole of Ireland.
This is a Gaeltacht or Irish speaking area. The true flavour of Irish
culture and tradition, with its attendant wealth of music, song, story,
humour and hospitality is very evident here.

Cornamona
overlooks the beautiful Lough Corrib
Cornamona
is a small but beautiful village situated at the gateway of Connemara
on the shores of Lough Corrib. Surrounded by the mountains, it is an
ideal place to "take a break from it all" and relax.
There
is an 18 hole Pitch-and-Putt course in the village, but keen golfers
needn’t despair: there are many golf courses nearby. Hill walking here
is a dream and as for fishing, Lough Corrib is probably the cleanest
lake in Europe. Trout and pike fishing on the lake are free; there is
a fee for salmon fishing which can be paid locally.
Cornamona
has two pubs, where you can mingle with the locals, enjoy a pint or
two, traditional music and dancing. If during your stay in Cornamona
you find yourself craving the city, all is not lost. Galway City, Westport,
Clifden and Castlebar are all within 30 Miles.
