Handel's Messiah is the definitive Oratorio. The chances are, even if you've never heard of oratorio, you still know a few numbers from Messiah, such as the "Hallelujah Chorus".
Messiah was first performed here in Dublin, with the choirs of St Patrick's and Christchurch Cathedrals. The Culwick Choral Society continues the Dublin Messiah tradition by performing the work every year in St Patrick's Cathedral, in aid of charity.
