Clane Lawn Tennis Club is a small local club with 5 all-weather porous concrete courts, 4 of which are floodlit to allow maximum usage for its members. Currently we have over 100 adult members and 300 juniors. The club is run by its elected committee who give their time on a voluntary basis.
The aim of the club is to encourage and promote the playing of tennis and to provide a range of activities to extend the abilities of its members. Whilst the club enters teams in a variety of competitive events and provides internal leagues, ladders etc., it is primarily involved in "social tennis" with regular club tournaments.
"Mix 'n Match" tournaments are held every Tuesday evening at 7:30pm and members over 14 years are welcome to attend. This allows new members to meet with members who play regularly, and encourage further participation in club events.
Junior tournaments are held weekly from April to October with under 12s playing Saturday mornings and over 12s on Friday evenings.
Coaching is organised periodically through the playing season for both junior and senior members.
Application forms are available in the clubhouse (Dublin Road) which is open Tuesday evenings, Thursday mornings, Friday evenings or Saturday mornings when committee members will be on hand to offer further information if required.
Ladies who may be interested in starting tennis are welcome to take part in our "ladies morning" on Thursdays (annual fee £30 to non-members). This facility is specially to encourage beginners and runs from 10:30am to 1:00pm.
New members of any standard are always welcome.
