Motor Neurone Disease - what's happening 1998

Perhaps one of the saddest tasks for me is to announce the passing away of David McGrath, my friend and "brother in arms". Dave will be missed by all. Other gentle folk have passed away also and they will also be missed terribly by their families and friends.
I understand that a new combination drug trial started in summer 1997. Riluzole, and a drug manufactured by Sanofi Winthrop is the combination
The riluzole trials at Beaumount and St. Vincents hospitals have finished...the drug is now licenced and available in Ireland. Many thanks to all the staff involved in organising the trial at both hospitals to RPR and to the IMNDA. .
Let's hope that there will be further advances in finding the cause and more importantly the cure for MND....Time ticks away...

Here are details of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Associations Motor Neurone Disease events 1998.
These are events which are being organised to raise awareness of MND and provide funds for the Association.
With 240 plus people on the association's books, the annual cost of sustaining services and support has risen dramatically over the past number of years.
