I'm locatedin Dublin, Ireland. I'm 44 years old, and have a background in Civil Engineeringand Project Management. I'm married with 3 children, ranging in ages between17 and 8. The burden of my disability is really on Kath and the kids....theyare a great support.

I was diagnosed with MND in Beruit in November1994. I'm still working from home for my company ESBI,who have been very supportive indeed.
Recently we've been relying on an agency ( PrivateHome Care ) to send carers while Kath is out teaching. The service is veryefficient and run by Elizabeth.Their phone number is Dublin 6245369 / 6219101.  Antoinette Coughlan, and two other carers, help to keep me operational and working.

Since my last update, I have stopped taking thedrug Riluzole, and have been on a homeopathic remedy (polio). I had beendoing TM and found it good... I'm afraid, I have not got back to it.
"I have great hopes for 1997..in terms of bigbreakthroughs in MND..LET'S TRY TO GET THE JIGSAW PIECES TOGETHER". Well I suppose here in March 1998 my thoughts are slightly different... Will the cavalry get here on time!!!
For many years now I have been interested in theWest Clare Railway (WCR) and have been active in a group which is restoringa section of the WCR.  I am sure that there is going to be a hugesuccess in the progress of the West Clare Railway this year.
