Club Details

Tulsk club was established originally in 1948 but in its present incarnation was re-established in 1987 after a lapse of ten years. The club is now very strong with a membership of twenty and growing. Members meet weekly in the local Macra hall every wednesday night. The club has a record of involvement in most of all the Macra competitions and has distinguished itself in almost all of them at one time or another. County titles were won last lear in competitions as diverse as public speaking, debating, stock judging (beef, sheep and dairying), welding and indoor soccer. Last year one member of Tulsk Macra Na Feirme, John Caulfield of Ballinagare, won the National under 23 beef stock judging title. This level of particapation led to the club winning an award for best competition participation in county Roscommon.
To date this year the club has won two All Ireland Titles in one history making day when first the Mens indoor soccer team won through to take the title away from the hosts Monaghan and later that evening the public speaking team defeated opposition from Laios and Tipperary to win the All Ireland. County titles also have fallen to the club with Tommy Farrell winning the beef stock judging title and the debating team winning the county round against fierce competition from another Tulsk team. The debating team are Martin Dowd, Shona McCormack, John Paul Flanagan and Michael Green. The Mcara Capers competitionj at county level was won by Tulsk in a apparent attempt to keep all the competition for the one club. We hope this level of success will continue for the rest of the year.
The club is also very active at county level with county chairman Martin Dowd, county PRO Sean Carroll and young farmers affairs secretary Padraig Loftus all comming from Tulsk club. The club always has a number of participants at county executive meetings and makes an important contribution to the organisation as a whole.

We meet every wednesday night in Tulsk village in the Macra Hall. The hall which is the village hall gets its name from the fact that it was built in 195- by pervious members of Macra Na Ferime. This is the most visable sign of what our organisation has done for the people of the area. The hall is located on the N5 approximately 200 meters east of the crossroads.
