Miss Honey's Diary
Monday, March 9
I arrived safely in Manister. I was relieved to be out of that box.
However, I was a little nervous when I saw 54 Irish eyes staring at me.
They were all happy with all my gifts. They hate the smell of Vegemite.
Shane took me home. He introduced me to his teddies Dollar, Snowball,
Fluffy and Panda. All my homesickness left me.
Tuesday, March 10
Shane was sick but I was glad of the rest in bed with him. I had a little jet lag.
Wednesday, March 11
I went home with Tracy. I walked through the daffodils in her garden.
Her lovely sister Audrey took me out to dinner. We had chips and burgers.
Thursday, March 12
I had a fun day with Leonard. He had a very funny laugh.
He gave me some very fast piggy back rides.
I couldn/t stop eating his kinder eggs. He got annoyed.
That night I slept with Leonard and his teddies.
Friday, March 13
Leonard said I kick a lot in my sleep. He had to go to sleep with his mam.
Saturday, March 14
I went to the video store with Sean.
We rented the full monty and Ernest goes to school.
After we left the video store we watched videos and ate burgers and chips.
Then we played a few games and then we went to bed. Next day I went to Burkes.
Sunday, March 15
Next day I went to Judys. We played with Conors blocks and trucks.
We had a teddy bears picnic only indoors. Then we had our lovely Sunday dinner.
I didn t eat my carrots. We watched television.
Monday, March 16
I am still at Judys house. We watched ER last night. I think its great.
I played with Paula, Alison and Conor. Judy had to clean the kitchen.
I said hello to David, Judy's brother.
We had to go to bed at 11.25.
Tuesday, March 17
Today is St Patricks Day. Alison is marching in the parade.
Judy marched a few years ago.
In the parade there was an elephant and camels and a little monkey.
We got ice-cream cones each.Then we went to dinner in the Kilmurry Hotel.
We got a balloon each. We had to go home for school.
Wednesday, March 18
Today I went home with Aislinn. I did my homework.
When I was finished I went out to play.
Then I went for something to eat. I had fish and chips. They were very tasty.
I went to bed at seven o'clock.
Thursday, March 19
Today I am still at Aislinns. I am very tired because I had to get up out of bed
at half eighto'clock because I am going to Dublin because Ilona is playing a
basketball match in the National basketball arena in Tallaght.
I was in the car for a very long time because Dublin is very far away.
I am there now. Aislinn is going for Bruff and so am I. The score was 22 to 28.
Bruffs score was 28. Bruff won the match.
Ilona is very happy and so are Aislinn and me.
We are going back home now. It is very late so we have to go to bed.
Sunday, March 22
On Sunday I went to the Limerick v Clare hurling match.
Limerick won and Clare lost.
I rode Brian's lamb. He bucked me off. His name is Dipsy.
Brian has lots of animals. He is getting 4 hens.
I love his house a lot, especially his room. I played with his computer.
I watched the television. He is a COOL DUDE.

Monday, March 23
We got ready at Raymonds cousins house to go to the beach.
We drove to the beach in the car. Then we got the fishing rods.
I nearly fell in. The water was very cold and deep.
We caught 3 salmon.
We then went down to the beach and made sandcastles.
One of the sandcastles nearly got blown away by the wind.
When we got home we got ice-cream and had a party.
Then we went to Lough Gur and went out in a canoe.
We then frightened all the swans and had a great time.
We came home then and we watched the Simpsons.
After the Simpsons we went to bed. I was very tired.
I had a great time at Raymonds house.
Tuesday, March 24
At half seven I went to cubs with Cormac.
First we did a roll call. Then we played ship to shore.
After that we played clothes line and I got knocked out.
Then we did drills.
We then came home at nine o'clock and had dinner.
Then we went to bed. I was very tired.
Wednesday, March 25
I arrived with Sylvia McNamara.
I had a great time watching Home and Away.
I miss Australia but Ireland is alright.
Sylvia is a nice girl. She is the nicest of them all.
I had Irish stew for dinner. I helped her with her homework.
When we went to bed I slept with her.
Thursday, March 26
I went home today with a boy Ross Fennessy.
We ate our meal. After our meal we went to Lough Gur.
There were people with canoes there. They let us in the canoes.
Then we went home. It was very late.
Then we went to bed. I had a great time at Rosses house.
Friday, March 27
On Friday afternoon I went home with Anna.
We went to her cousins birthday party. We ate a lot of sweets.
Everybody thought I was cute.
