• The Bowler's Bowling Dictionary
  One long HTML page with terms and definitions in English.
• "Magic: The Gathering®" terminology from Wizards of the Coast
  This page contains links to the 6th edition technical rulebooks for this card-collecting game in many languages, including English and Italian. Each rulebook can be downloaded as an RTF document -- and can be used as reference for the game terminology.

Music

• Dizionario degli strumenti musicali
  A long and detailed list of instrument names in many languages, with their equivalent in Italian. Not necessarily an exact translation (many details get lost), but a good place to get an idea of the meaning of an instrument name in a foreign language.
• AMG Music Glossary from the All-Music Guide
  Terms and (long) definitions in English. Online search or by category. Almost an encyclopedia of musical terms.
• Dictionary of rap music
  Hosted by the University of Nijmegen, NL. Terms and definitions in English, with online search and category indexes.

Other

• Sounds of the world's animals
  An interesting site which lists the ways in which animal sounds are expressed in many different languages. It can be browsed by animal (each page lists all the languages and gives a picture and a recording of the actual sound), or by language (each page has a list of the animal names with their sounds in the appropriate language). You never know when this could come in useful...
• Real estate lexicon / Lessico immobiliare by IREX
  A glossary of real estate terms in German, English, French, Italian and Spanish. Each language has an alphabetical list of terms, and each term has a page with the equivalent terms in all other languages. The online search feature only works with German as the source language.
• The Anagram Maker
  An automated anagram maker: enter a word or phrase and get a list of all possible anagrams. This is great fun, whatever the actual practical use...
• Biographical Dictionary
  Short biographies in English of famous people from all over the world (not only English-speaking countries). The dictionary can be searched online by names, birth years, death years, positions held, professions, literary and artistic works, miscellaneous achievements, and other keywords.
• Heraldic glossary
  Online-searchable dictionary of heraldic terms in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch, plus an "Atlas" where you can find the names of objects by clicking on pictures.
• Online Film Dictionary
  Online-searchable glossary of film-related terms in many languages; there's also a subject index for browsing. The page owner warns that the glossary may not be entirely accurate, since it was compiled from many sources and not always validated. Still, a useful resource as a starting point.
• Familiar Quotations (John Barlett, 1901)
  A collection of familiar English quotations which you can search online by keywords or from a list of authors; part of the very interesting Bartleby Archive.
