Classes

Welcome to First Class
Jackson Pollack

We learned about Jackson Pollack in Art Class. We learned that he was born in Wyoming in America in 1912. He was an abstract painter. He painted on enormous canvasses. He loved to use lots of colour. He used different kinds of paint, pencil, inks and colouring pencils to create his paintings.
One of the ways he painted was to fill a leaky bucket with paint and spill the paint on the canvass. Jackson Pollack died in a car crash in 1956 at the age of 44.
We hope you enjoy our interpretation of Jackson Pollack paintings.

The Gingerbread Man
We made this story on our Smart Board. We logged on to
www.tes.iboard.co.uk We read the story. Then we made each scene ourselves.
First we chose a background. Then we selected the props, e.g. flowers, trees, grass and buildings. We pulled out the characters needed for that scene and re-sized them. We brought up the on-screen keyboard and typed up speech or thought bubbles for the characters. Finally, we printed each scene.
Using Photostory and a voice recorder we animated and told the story of The Gingerbread Man. We had lots of fun doing this and we hope that you enjoy watching the result.

Each group did this as a team. We did all of the work by ourselves. It was fun. We hope you enjoy our story.

Challenging Vocabulary

We have a Challenging Vocabulary list at school. We add to this list weekly as we come up with new words that we meet in conversation or text. We discuss the words and give examples of how to use them. Perhaps you would like to talk about these at home and maybe use them in conversation with your child!

Here are the words on our challenging vocabulary list so far:
