Dear Parents,

Please not e the following items:

Family Contribution
Our 10,000 euro repayment to Meitheal is now due. The Board of Management has requested that each family contribute 100 euro towards this cost. If you have forgotten to contribute, we would please ask you to do so straight away.

50th Anniversary Celebrations
In preparation for our celebrations for the June Bank Holiday weekend, we are going to need lots of parental help and support. As we get nearer to the weekend, I will communicate the areas in which we need help to you, but for now, there are a few areas that I will list:

We will need parents to bake, so that we will have cakes, etc to give with a cup of tea at 4.30pm on Saturday. If you are prepared to help, please let us know and we will contact you again nearer the time

We will have a general tidy up of the school grounds towards the end of May and again we will require lots of help on that evening. If you are prepared to help, please let us know and we will contact you again nearer the time.

Policy in the Distribution of Invitations within the School
At a recent Board of management meeting the following policy was adopted:

The school will not permit the distribution of invitations for private parties (birthday parties etc) by pupils, staff or parents on the school premises or during school time. Under the terms of the Data Protection Act, the school may not communicate personal details in relation to pupils and their families to other families.

Phones for Boards
We are still collecting old mobile phones for the Jack & Jill Foundation as part of their Phones for Boards promotion. We would ask that if you, any of your family, friends or work colleagues are changing their mobile phones, you/they would contribute the old/broken ones to Killeeneen National School. We have a collection box outside the school office where phones can be dropped off. Thank you.

Cook Book
Our Finance Committee has decided to begin work on a cookbook which we will publish at a later date. With this in mind, they would like to invite you to submit your favourite recipes to the school, by email if possible, by Friday, May 28. We would encourage you to include Starters, Main Courses, Desserts, Fish Dishes, Vegetarian Dishes and Bread & Baked Goods. We would like to include some photographs of local areas – people, events, etc. as part of the book and, with this in mind, we would invite you to submit any photograph which you think would be appropriate. During the month of June, the committee will put a group in place who will vet the recipes submitted. If you would like to be a part of that group, please let us know.
