EYO REGULATIONS
- The EAMDA Youth Organization (EYO) is officially established
within EAMDA. EYO will work within the framework of the EAMDA
Constitution.
- The special aims of EYO are:
- to bring all the National Youth Groups (NYG) of the EAMDA members together.
- to improve the quality of life of young people with a neuromuscular disease.
- to improve the selfimage of young people with a neuromuscular disease.
- to give support and information to young people concerning psychosocial aspects (ventilation,
surgical intervention, physical deterioration, wheelchair use etc.).
- to create possibilities for contacts and exchange of experiences and ideas among the young members.
- to work on full compensation for disadvantages from a neurmuscular disease.
- to improve the image of living with a neuromuscular disease.
- to work on integration as a fundamental right and NOT as an obligation.
- to stimulate EAMDA to support and promote integration oriented sociopolitical thoughts.
- to cooperate with the youth with NMD in the Eastern European countries.
- to train and motivate people to be actively involved in EAMDA enabling participation at Executive
Committee level.
- Each NYG must be proposed by its national association to the EYO
Committee according to the internal rules of the national
association concerned.
- Each NYG will nominate a delegate who will liaise between EYO and
their respective NYG.
- The agelimit for membership of EYO is 30 years.
- EYO is governed by:
- The Annual Meeting of the Delegates (AMD)
- The EYO Committee
- The Annual Meeting of Delegates (AMD) is the decision making body
of EYO. The AMD is comprised of the national delegates of each NYG
participating in EYO. Any national delegate unable to attend the
AMD can be replaced by a national substitute delegate, nominated by
the relevant NYG. In such event, the relevent data on the
substitute delegate must be relayed by the relevant NYG to the EYO
Committee before the AMD.
- The EYO Committee will give to each NYG 28 days notice of the AMD
which will be held in conjunction with the EAMDA AGM.
- . The delegates at the AMD shall:
- elect five delegates to the EYO Committee. Each such delegate is
elected for a term of two years and may be a member of the
Committee for three terms. The Committee will elect a chairman,
secretary and treasurer for a term of one year each. The chairman
and the secretary may be elected for three terms of one year each.
At the EYO Congress '92 three delegates for a term of two years
and two delegates for one year will be elected to the Committee.
The distribution of years will be by agreement. After this first
election the members of the Committee will be elected as set out
before.
- discuss and vote on the annual report of the previous secretary
and the programme report of the chairman.
- discuss and vote on new projects and activities.
- discuss and vote on the budget proposed by the EYO Committee.
- discuss and vote on each proposal of NYG and attending
delegates.
- vote on changes to the current Regulations.
- Decisions on a European level by AMD are communicated by the EYO
delegates to their own NYG. The NYGs must follow the AMD decisions
on a European level.
- The EYO Committee will decide the subjects for which each member
of the Committee will be responsible.
- The Chairman:
- is chairman of the AMD and the Committee meetings.
- officially represents EYO.
- liaises between EAMDA and EYO.
- The Secretary coordinates the activities of the EYO Committee
and carries out the usual duties of a secretary to a Committee.
- The Treasurer annually presents to the AMD and to EAMDA a list
of all the direct and indirect financing received during the year
and the plans for the coming year.
- The activities of EYO are financed by EAMDA, national
associations and other organizations in Europe.
- EYO has the responsibility for the EYO Camp (formerly EAMDA
Youth Camp). These camps will be organized by the national
associations in cooperation with the EYO Committee.
