Introduction
This
site details just some of the shipwrecks, strandings and disasters,
in and around Cork Harbour, Ireland, over the past
four centuries.
Cork
Harbour is known worldwide for being the last port of call of
the Titanic, and is the final resting place of the White
Star Line Celtic and the German gun runner Aud among others.
In
latter years there has been a resurgence of the visits of cruise
ships, with some of the largest calling during the Spring
and Summer months, providing welcome vitality to the harbour.
The shipwreck list is a 'work
in progress' and will be updated as information becomes available. |
